What a sealed-system failure looks like
The temperature climbs and will not come back down, whatever the setting. Either the compressor is silent, or it runs on and nothing inside gets colder. Those same signs also fit faults that cost far less, so they are ruled out first: the fans, the control, and the electrical parts that start the compressor, which Sub-Zero’s service manuals do not count as part of the sealed system. Pressures are read only once all of that has checked out.
Why the sum differs from a refrigerator’s
